What Could it Mean to Say Yes?
October 14 - November 12, 2006
|
What Could It Mean To Say Yes? is a photographic exploration of what society deems an important rite of passage for a woman through the embodied character of the bride. She is alone on this journey; the images lead us deep into the dreamscape of the psyche. The narrative unfolds as the question of commitment transforms: what does it mean to say yes to oneself?
What Could It Mean To Say Yes? illustrates the sense of permanence through the creation of memories. The photograph serves as witness. The installation comprises of images printed on silk scrolls and of pages of a book, suggesting the document of a wedding album. In diptych form, these pages reveal the union of image with internal dialogue.
