Tomek Lamprecht

"I have long wondered when a work is finished. At what point does a bunch of stuff - or a work in progress become art? Artists struggle with this question all the time. Some don't go far enough, some don't know when to stop," observes Roberts. "This exhibition features a fascinating array of works by artists asserting that their work could not be completed with one panel alone." Come take a look and see whether you agree.

Tom Gehrig

An artists' reception will be held on Thursday, June 7th, from 5pm to midnight. A panel discussion that evening moderated by Roberts will begin at 9pm with SAM curator of modern & contemporary art, Michael Darling, artist Tomek Lamprecht and The Stranger art critic, Jen Graves. Topic: what is Darling's vision for SAM and why will Seattle be relevant on the international art scene?

Kathleen Rabel
