You know Center on Contemporary Art (CoCA) as a place to gather and appreciate contemporary art, but do you know how we provide that space for creative expression, community, and inclusivity? It’s not just our great art, artists, and members; it’s our family of volunteers and supporters, board members and interns.
All those behind-the-scenes contributors are the catalyst that drives this organization forward, and we want to take some time to thank them for their many hours of efforts. We’d like to specially thank Robin Walker Arnitz (Board Member), Kaylyn Dwyer (Gallery Management Intern), Tina Gonsalves (Board Member), Kate Hallstead (Curatorial Intern), Kalindi Kunis (Board Member), Natalie Miller (Development Intern), Sam Richardson (Tech/Administration Intern), Eden Seifu (ED Support Intern), Sophia Su (Admin & Communications Intern), Suzanne Walker (Development Intern), Brooklyn Witteman (Curatorial/Communications Intern), Kate Vrijmoet (Board Member), and Harmony Wolfe (Board Member/Curatorial Associate).
As you can imagine, it’s a network of many people, often in flux, but managing to work together with lots of communication and the encouragement of our fearless leader, Nichole DeMent. Together, we thank you for the passion and dedication, the hours that you spent to attend meetings, sit at docent shifts, and prepare for the shows and events. Our door will always open for you, so don’t be shy when you just want to come in and feel the CoCA family welcome!
Show after show, our CoCA members, board members, volunteers, and interns support us to be the center of contemporary art in Seattle. We couldn’t have done it without each and everyone of you. If this sounds like a place for you, join today and be a part of our family, or apply to be a volunteer or intern and help us introduce art to the community! If you have any other ideas on how you can contribute to the extended CoCA community, email firstname.lastname@example.org. We would love to hear from you!
