Ceci N’est Pas Une Pipe D’un Homme

  • Center on Contemporary Art 114 Third Ave South Seattle WA USA (map)

We are excited to participate in Refract: The Seattle Glass Experience with this group show, featuring original works by femme-identifying artists in the glassmaking industry. The show seeks to empower the skill and work of womxn flameworkers from the Pacific Northwest alongside Seattle’s luminaries of glass art.

This is the second iteration of a previous show from CoCA, Ceci N’est pas une Pipe: Flameworking on the Brink of Legalization, which focused on the effects of the 2012 passing of Initiative 502, legalizing the recreational use of marijuana. This second revival of our November 2013 glass show now shifts its focal point to the experiences and artistic vision of womxn in a male-dominated arts field.

This is the sixth show in our 2019 exhibition season, a year dedicated to amplifying female-identified voices and themes. #fightsilence
