CoCA Lab: Artist in Residence Program

Featuring NKO & Fogland Studios.

For December and January we are excited to welcome artist NKO and Fogland Studio as our CoCA Lab artists in residence located in CoCA's shipping container at Equinox Creative Industrial Complex in Georgetown.

This team of creatives have a slew of surprises in store, including a Drawing Jam on December 10 (audience participation encouraged!), and a Book Release and Pop-Up Market on January 14. More details to be released soon, however, expect the next couple of months to be jam-packed with art demonstrations, community drawing sessions, and, ultimately, the unveiling of the latest CoCA Lab container installation.

NKO & Fogland Studio: Book Release and Pop-up Market
Saturday, January 14, 2017

Fogland Studios, New Mystics and CoCA present a handmade book release party, activist event, pop up shop and screenprinting demo from 6-9pm during Georgetown Art Attack on Jan. 14.

Continuing their recent CoCA Lab residency RESISTANCE: Art as Advocacy, artists and printers Eric Carnell and NKO will debut a screenprinted book (whose contents were developed during a drawing party at Art Attack December 10), and demo guerrilla screen printing techniques featuring posters for local advocacy group, Shout Your Abortion. The artists will showcase how, using simple tools and techniques, it's possible to empower people through visual art.

Come by and drink a beer, donate to your favorite causes - including Black Lives Matter, Shout Your Abortion, I-873 (police accountability), NoDAPL, and Rent Control - and see how individual and collective voices can be powerful. Now is the time for healing, festival, and RESISTANCE!
