Alster’s work disrupts conventionally perceived gender roles and explores sexuality through non-Western rituals and traditions that break down hierarchical structures.
Her posthuman feminism is a pioneering form of contemporary art that CoCA is proud to present in Seattle.
Alster’s recent performances include Non-binary Madonna, Bodies of Water, Timelessness, Theatrum Mundi, Liquid Queer Memoria, Woman Soil, and many others. Darina Alster is visual artist, performer, publisher, and professor. She lives and works in Prague.
