The ShowWalls Program

The CoCA ShowWalls program was first piloted in 2021 and partners with businesses to continue its innovative showcasing of individual CoCA Member Artist’s works. Currently this program is partnered with Gary Manuel Salon in Pioneer Square and Collins Pub, next door.

Artworks are showcased in two-month shows, available for viewing during normal business hours, with new shows starting at the first of the month.

CoCA Members are prioritized in our curation of these venues.

In curating these venues, CoCA looks for artists that feel inspired by the mission and objectives of each business, as well as the unique physical characteristics of each space. While under the current leadership, the CoCA Gallery, which is more adaptable to installations and conceptual art, will focus on group shows exploring various facets contemporary art and solo shows by mid-career artists, the ShowWalls program, on the other hand, provides an opportunity for individual Member Artists to present a larger body of individual wall-hung work.

For many, this may be their first opportunity for a solo show, or first large scale experience with executing a cohesive body of work, developing an artist statement and biography to accompany that work, pricing, mounting, framing, and hanging a show. CoCA ShowWalls provides a unique opportunity for emerging, disenfranchised, or otherwise marginalized Member Artists.

Venues

Gary Manuel Salon

528 2nd Ave, Seattle, WA 98104

Having opened its doors over three decades ago, Gary Manuel Salon is one of the most popular hair styling stations in Seattle and you will know why when you enter this place. This salon on Pioneer Square is a great place to get a complete makeover or simply a nice haircut. They offer hair coloring and specialized hair treatment in case you have dry and frizzy hair. CoCA’s ShowWalls program has operated here since 2021.

Collins Pub

526 2nd Ave, Seattle, WA 98104

The Collins Pub has been hosting artist exhibitions since the day The Pub opened in 2003 & has continued to host artist exhibitions which explodes with the crowds of every First Thursday of the month for Artwalk & every day for the exceptional customers seeking fine food & drinks in Pioneer Square. Now, starting in January 2024, the Collins Pub Gallery walls will be curated by CoCA as part of the ShowWalls Program.
